It’s our 15th anniversary this year!
We are a volunteer based after-school math skills club open to all Kinders-5th graders.
This unique program includes interactive problem-solving math games, & instructional activities. We work to strengthen math concepts and skills which align with National & State Mathematics Standards. A focus on conceptual understanding and the integration of spatial, computational, & logical reasoning are key attributes of Mathematics Pentathlon. We believe in fostering team work & good sportsmanship. While learning how to play the games, students work in cooperative groups of four in order to communicate their ideas and strategize together as team members. We work on being respectful of others’ ideas while celebrating not only one’s own achievements, but also those of other team members.
Not every school has this program, and not every state offers this program, and we’re beyond fortunate for this. And year after year, our Reagan mathletes are legendary!
NOTE: This is NOT a child care service and we expect an openness to learning and achieving in our District & National tournaments this spring.
Our Mission Statement: We promote mathematical understanding using skills such as active problem solving, logical reasoning, spatial reasoning, and computation. Our goal is to achieve all of this while encouraging and teaching everyone involved on the importance of sportsmanship, determination, kindness, and collaboration.
